Are today's celebrities really role models for today's youth?

As we are living in a world of media today, it is not surprising that these celebrities remain in limelight and are chased everywhere by cameras. Some people believe that today's celebrities serve as exemplary role models. I partially agree with this view.

However, celebrities bear huge responsibilities to act as role models. Starting from a humble background, faced with poverty and other problems, these celebrities learned how to overcome all that fate threw at them. They moved forward with a single-minded determination to achieve success. There are many celebrities who have a lot of power and influence and celebrities are very giving when it comes to charitable causes and their generosity changes the lives of many people. Some give money to particular religious, health care, children’s benefit, help refugees, support education, animal and environment care organizations. Even now, many celebrities donate their money to help victims of COVID-19. These actions inspire the youth to help people, animals, and the environment. Celebrities show that you do not need to be a famous or rich person to change the world or to help someone. A little passion and care are all you need.

On the other hand, not all celebrities care about issues like homeless animals or cancer care. They are interested in money, fame, and reputation. They don't care what example they set for people. The problem occurs when the young people, trying to do all other things in their favorite celebrities style. Fans get easily influenced by celebrities. They try to imitate them in clothing, hairstyle and even in walking and talking. Young people do not only imitate their outlook but also start imagining the world from the eyes of celebrities, instead of their own thoughts and ideas.

Therefore, the youth pay great attention to celebrities' advice. Even more than their parents, teachers, and their friends.

In conclusion, I agree that today's celebrities serve as exemplary role models. I understand that celebrities are ordinary people and they have the right to live their lives as they want but, they should know, that their footprints are being followed with curiosity and greed, they should hold the symbols of honesty and welfare. Celebrities should be a good role model not only for young people and society but also for themselves. They should strive for a better version of themselves.
