What can you say about Hamlet, the main character of “Hamlet, prince of Denmark”

In the great work of William Shakespeare "Hamlet" there are many profound ideas, which to this day allow readers to find something new for themselves. Here the author reveals problems of a social nature and the fact that nothing human is alien to the nobility. As an example of this, we can consider the main character, his positive and negative sides.

On the one hand, Hamlet is a positive hero. The prince of Denmark, heir to the old king, is very concerned about the death of his parent. He is more bereaved than the Queen Mother. He is not ready to take the reins of government, because he understands that he is not ready for this yet. Hamlet knows that the recklessness and riot of youth can destroy his homeland. Hamlet is clever and cunning, fluent in colloquial speech, a skillful orator from birth. He thinks like a researcher. Hamlet will first think and then do. He prepares everything carefully.

The prince is a brave man. Despite the fact that he seems at times quiet and indecisive, he is not afraid of the ghost of his father that comes to him at night. Over time, he ceases to fear death by talking to a human skull.

Hamlet loves his family. He is ready to do anything for the sake of his mother, which is now left alone. He can always find the right words to comfort. He is ready to protect her from any attacks of haters or overly annoying men.

On the other hand, Hamlet is a negative character. Despite the fact that the prince at the court is known as a gallant youth with a hanging tongue, Hamlet has its drawbacks. For example, the prince is very spoiled. He is used to luxury, loves to dispose of. Hamlet is very cool about his seemingly beloved, Ophelia, who dies after a while.

Hamlet is cruel to his enemies. He comes up with a cunning plan for revenge to be sure. When he is completely seized by the desire to repay the blood debt, he is not even ashamed of the desire to kill his own mother for betraying his father.

In conclusion, it should to be said that Hamlet combines positive and negative qualities. He, like all people, is not perfect, but courage, cunning and vindictiveness make him a truly interesting adventure character.
