New technologies make our lives much easier. This has always been the case everywhere: after the invention of the steam locomotive and steamboat, travel and relocation became much safer, the telephone and Telegraph gave us the opportunity to quickly contact neighboring continents, television and radio – quickly get the most up-to-date information. But none of these events affected humanity as much as the invention of the computer. Everyone in the house has their own personal typewriter, calculator, video editor and movie theater in one small black case. But is it just the computer that brought us this?

On the one hand, it has given us unlimited possibilities. By connecting to the Internet, we can get any information that interests us. You can learn many professions from the comfort of your home, talk to a Professor at a University half a world away, and find friends you have never seen or will never see. The computer has greatly accelerated our life, made it much easier and faster. You don't even need to go to the store – you can order your products at home on a special website. Every schoolchild can learn programming, and a housewife can find thousands of recipes without even opening a book. We have entered a new era of development that makes everything easier and faster.

However, not everything is as good as it seems. The fact is that the virtual world is so attractive that it sometimes overshadows reality. Many people may not go out for weeks, do not communicate with anyone, and just look at the monitor. Because of the constant strain on vision, most people have problems with their eyes, and myopia threatens to become the most dangerous disease of the 21st century. Children have stopped reading and devote all their time to computer games, and walks in the yard and Hiking trips have been replaced by communication in social networks. Of course, these are problems not of computers (which in fact are just a pile of wires), but of people, but something needs to be done about it, and quickly. Few people know, but bill gates, the head of Microsoft Corporation, forbids his children to use smartphones for more than 3 hours a day. This is definitely suggestive and makes us think about our future.

Computers themselves, like any technical device, are just tools. It can be used for good: to create something new, to help people you've never met, to give you new opportunities and a lot of free time. And you can spend your entire life at the computer in useless entertainment and boring chatter on social networks. We make the choice ourselves.
