Who is a hero for you?

When somebody becomes a hero sometimes only few people know about the fact of heroism. The story of the Russian climber Anatoliy Bukreev is a fact of true heroism. In 1996 the tragedy on the Everest Mountain had occurred. Two groups of climbers led by prominent alpinists Scott Fischer and Rob Hall were involved in difficult dangerous situation, caused by many factors such as bad weather conditions, lack of oxygen and bad organization of the route. Some of climbers got lost in a snowstorm on the way back from climbing Everest. They stopped on the edge of abyss totally disorientated, having no food and water in a freezing cold. These five climbers were drained and hypothermia has started. They were closer to the death in a cold Himalayan weather. In spite of some people based in a camp, Anatoliy Bukreev was the only one who volunteered to help. He was able to find this lost group of people in the middle of the night and brought them back to the camp in the conditions of minus forty degrees cold on the eight thousands kilometers height and colossal fatigue. He was able to safe lives of three people. Taking into account the unspoken rule of climbers "in the mountains everyman for himself " which assumes each person's own responsibility, taking into account difficult conditions of this rescue operation and with the risk of his own life, I assume Bukreev made an act of heroism. Later he was awarded with the prize of the American Alpine Club for the saving people's lives. Anatoliy Bukreev has died on in a year during an attempt of winter ascent to the top of Annapurna Mountain as a result of an avalanche. He will always be a hero and example of unprecedented courage and bravery in my mind and some other people’s memories.
