My Home

There are different definitions of “home” concept. My home for me is not only the place where I live, it is the place where I feel safety and happy, it is also our family nest. I live in the countryside in a cozy beautiful farm house constructed from red bricks. I live there together with my family, two cats and dog. There is a nice garden surrounding my house, which I perceive as an integral part of my home. In summer time when it is sunny weather I and my family prefer to spend a lot of time outside in the garden. We can do some gardening, like growing plants or just sitting in chase-longs and cooking barbeque. It is really a precious moment, when all the members of a family gather together to share their news and just to spend some time with each other. In winter time the center of my home is a room with fireplace, where we have dinner with mulled wine and playing chess or just watching TV and reading books. My home can also be represented as a little museum of our family history. We keep here some very important artifacts like silver tea set or photo albums with old photos full of memories, family icon and also rare books. Most of members of my family like to travel. So my home is an encyclopedia of travelling. On the walls of my home you can see a paintings in a style of Taino folk art from Dominican Republic or the little statue of colorful bear – the symbol of Germany, brought from Frankfurt. And of course my home is a place where is always a smell of bakery. It’s full of the mixture of cinnamon, vanilla and lavender sweet scents in Christmas time. And we also bake a lot of pies with season fruits during the harvest, so my home is full of apple and plum smells in the Autumn time. My home is the most precious place for me.
