«Who is a hero for me?»

Two years ago, I read one very popular book, Gone With the Wind. I was impressed after reading this novel. We all know the main character of this story - Scarlett O’Hara.

Reading this work, we are transported to the XIX century, where we live, together with a blossoming, full of energy, strength and perseverance woman, events of her life full of drama.

Scarlett is a child from a wealthy family in the South of the United States. As a child, she never knew what it was to starve or live in poverty. The atmosphere in her family was full of love, warm feelings, respect for each other. Her young years are an endless celebration of balls, parties and barbecue with many fans. Scarlett's biggest problem was to choose a dress in which she would look the most attractive.

Everything changed the civil war in the States. The whole world that Scarlett was accustomed to, the world in which she believed, turned into ashes and heavy memories. For a month in Atlanta, waiting for the enemy’s attack, more and more bad news, less food and hope, excitement for his beloved man at the front, his pregnant wife, whom Scarlett had to look after ... Next - an escape from a burning city with a weak Melanie and her just born as a kid, fear and panic ... Considerable courage, endurance and optimism are needed to bear it all on our shoulders, looking into the eyes of death, to be able to go forward, without looking back, to meet new obstacles in order to overcome them.

The death of her mother is the biggest blow for Scarlett, but she also withstood it, because she realized that it was impossible to live in the past. We must gather strength to get on our feet, so as not to die with the Confederation. All Negro slaves escaped from the plantation, so Scarlett did the hardest work so that her family would not starve to death. It was she who became the head of her water hour, taking responsibility for everyone.

She suffered all losses and disappointments herself, not admitting to anyone that her strength might not be enough to survive in a brutal new reality. Her love turned out to be just a game, a childish whim, which she stubbornly cherished in her soul, because she herself drew strength in it.

After the surrender of the South, Scarlett, neglecting public opinion, did everything to pay exorbitant taxes on her father’s house. She was condemned by those who chose to live in poverty and curse fate, proud of their honor.

And having lost her beloved man, Melanie’s faithful girlfriend, having buried her parents, saying goodbye to her illusory love, she tells herself that this is not the time to cry, because you won’t achieve anything and you won’t save anything.

Scarlett is my hero because Scarlett’s wildlife, which openly strives for all the benefits that a person deserves, the strength of her personality, which allows her to fight and win, cause me sincere admiration.
