Who is a hero for me?

I am the officer of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. My decision to become the military person was based on feats of heroes of the Great Patriotic War. As I graduated from Military Academy of communication, a hero for me is the operator Nikolay Sergeyevich Novikov.

At the beginning of December, 1941 troops of the Western front conducted heavy defensive actions on near approaches to Moscow. On December 1 enemy troops made an attempt to break to the capital on wider front. In the districts of Naro-Fominsk, Kamensk, Zvenigorod and to the west of the Cuban of the attack of the opponent were beaten off.

In these fights the senior linear supervisor of the 28th Guards signal battalion sergeant Nikolay Sergeyevich Novikov made a feat. An extract from its prize leaf: "Comrade Novikov served the line from RC of the commander of a division to a part of the major Bezzubov. The filtered big group of submachine gunners commanded the line. Despite strong fire of the opponent comrade Novikov on all fours passed from one break to another and lying corrected them. While he spliced the last break, got severe wound from the automatic machine. Bleeding profusely, comrade Novikov, remembering the debt of the operator, clamped the torn wires in teeth, than reestablished communication".

Thanks to Nikolay Novikov is heroism became possible to report to the headquarters about approach of Germans. On this site the reinforcement approached, and the attack of the opponent choked. As a result of persistent fights the enemy group operating on the Naro-Fominsk direction was broken.

It is only one example of manifestation of heroism by the person. There is a lot of such examples. Actually Each of us can become a hero. The main thing it to arrive on conscience, on honor. The real hero the one who will always help the person with a trouble with kind heart and open soul.
