There are a lot of countries in the world. Each country has got its own flag. And each flag symbolizes its country and people who live there. The flag represents the history and culture of the country. And also, it represents traditions and peculiarities of the country. The flag is one of the most important and revered symbols of the country.

What can be used on a flag to symbolize one of the countries of the world? The flag can use a variety of colors, different geometrical or floral shapes and patterns, inscriptions or something other. Each color represents something. It reflects one of the features of the country. The flag uses a lot of colors like yellow, white, black, green, blue, red, orange and so on. But these colors are not universal. And in different countries the same color means different. For example, yellow might represent the sun, but yellow represents the metal gold on the Colombia’s flag. Or blue can represent freedom. And blue means the sea on the Colombia’s flag. The flag may consist of several colors or be of the same color. For example, the Russian’s flag consists of three colors: white, blue and red. And the flag of Libya was green from 1977 to 2011.

Some flags might symbolize the country by mystical animals or unusual patterns. For example, a Welsh dragon is depicted on the flag of Wales. The Welsh dragon is on a background of the horizontal stripes of white and green. The flag of Barbados has three vertical stripes of two blue and one yellow. And on the yellow stripe there is a trident. The trident symbolizes the three principles of democracy.
