James Cameron

James Francis Cameron (Eng. James Francis Cameron; born August 16, 1954, Kapuskasing, Ontario, Canada) - Canadian film director, screenwriter, producer, editor, oceanographer.

Biography

Born in Kapuskasing (Canada, Ontario) in the family of an electrical engineer and an artist. James was the eldest of five children. There in the city of Chippu went to school. He graduated from primary education in the United States, in California, where the family moved in the early 1960s. In the same place James entered the Faculty of Physics of the University of California. Without completing his studies, Cameron, in 1978, along with two school friends, William Wisher and Jason Fessenden, shoots the short fiction film “Xenogenesis” and, taking interest in the low-budget filmmaker Roger Corman, begins work at his film studio “New World Pictures”.

His first feature film was Piranha 2: Spawning - a sequel to the horror film Piranha.
