Essay write about the fate of Oliver Twist

Surname Twist speaks for itself. Fate seems to twist Oliver Twist inside out. The hero of the novel by Charles Dickens is faced with trials all his life. Since birth, Oliver Twist began to fight for his life. And this struggle continues throughout his life. Why is Charles Dickens telling us a sad story about a boy with a difficult fate? It is essay will speak about it.

In addition to the struggle for life and survival, Oliver Twist fights temptations. He tries not to succumb to temptations. He knows how to distinguish good from evil, although no one has taught him this. On the contrary, in his life he was mainly faced with evil and cruelty. And to embark on the path of evil would be much easier for him. Even being in the circle of criminals, he refuses to commit crimes. It is hard to believe that a child can have such strong moral qualities.

In my opinion, Oliver Twist can be compared with Ivanhoe (the hero of the novel by Walter Scott). They are both of noble birth. And for both of them, moral values are more important than their own lives. They don’t think how to make their life easier. They live by the will of their heart.

Also in this novel, attention is drawn to orphans. Whose fate is very difficult. Charles Dickens makes readers of the novel feel all the difficulties that Oliver Twist endured. Thus, the author encourages readers of the novel to think about how they can help orphans.

I believe that the novel Oliver Twist is very useful for both adults and children. Novel shows how insignificant our problems are in comparison with the fate of Oliver Twist. In most families, children are raised in an atmosphere of love and kindness. They do not know that there is cruelty, betrayal and other bad qualities of a person. The fate of Oliver Twist shows the dark side of humanity. But you need to know that it exists. Also, acquaintance with the fate of Oliver Twist instills in children a sense of compassion, makes them not indifferent.
