“What can you say about Hamlet, the main character of “Hamlet, Prince of Denmark”

Probably, no matter how many times we read Shakespeare's tragedy «Hamlet»,each time we will sympathize with the main character - Prince Hamlet. Every reader will find something close to it. In the first place in the tragedy there is such a problem, as the struggle of good and evil, the purpose of man on earth. We see the environment in which the little Prince grew up. He was surrounded by the love of his parents and friends. Hamlet is the future Danish king, he has a great future ahead of him. And in one moment this cloudless world collapses. His father dies, and his mother quickly marries king Claudius ' brother. And suddenly the Ghost of his father tells him the truth about the murder and calls for revenge. The Prince's carefree life ends. And his mother-part of this deceitful, hypocritical world. But hamlet is not in a hurry to take revenge, it is forbidden to commit evil, even if it is revenge for the murder of his father.

The author depicts a chain of conflicts in the work, which merge into the conflict of Prince Hamlet with reality.

Hamlet does not accept the shortcomings of the Royal court. For him, the castle in Elsinore is evil. His personal conflict with his father's murder turns into a historical conflict. Hamlet is opposed not only by Claudius, but also by the world's evil. So he asks himself the question " To be or not to be?». This is his protest, the desire to fight evil. But the power of evil is stronger than the hero's honesty. In order to defeat this evil, hamlet has to destroy human feelings in himself: love, kinship (he refuses Ophelia and his mother), sincerity and humanity (playing madman). But this does not happen by his will. He had nurtured these high feelings all his life, and now I have to destroy them and commit crimes. He knows himself - that is the tragedy of Hamlet.

Hamlet is a very intelligent and educated man of his time. His monologues Express Shakespeare's reflections on society and the world. They Express the worldview of the Renaissance.

The hero is very controversial. The search for truth presents hamlet with a choice. In the first place in the tragedy are his arguments. The death of his father, the betrayal of his uncle and mother will destroy the familiar world of Hamlet. Reality destroys all his ethical ideals: love, friendship, honor. He resists this external evil, avenges the murder of his father.

At the beginning of the work, Hamlet is sure that evil can only be defeated by punishing it. He is young and believes in such Holy feelings as love and friendship. After the death of his father, he becomes a cynical man who is driven only by revenge. He changes his attitude to all the people around him. He still has the only friend he trusts – Horatio. He supports Hamlet in everything.

People like hamlet are driving progress all over the world. They are both soft and strong. They are very determined. Without them there will be no good in the world. His death shows that truth and kindness always prevail.

The tragedy of Shakespeare, written several centuries ago, remains relevant in our time. Humanity needs to constantly change for the better in order to survive.

Even in our time the attitude to Hamlet remains ambiguous, he is considered indecisive, but many see him as a fighter against the world's evil.
