What can be used on a flag to symbolize a country? (The flag is the symbol of the country)

The flag is the symbol of the country. According to it, we can determine the geographical position of the country of the owner of the flag, its territorial conditions, the form of government of the state. The flag is the main attribute of a country that cannot be ignored.

The color and symbolism on the flag can tell a lot.

First, its colors. White is the color of calmness and purity of intentions. Previously, the white flag stood for peace. Parliamentarians carried the white flag as a reconciliation and end to the war. A white flag can also represent clouds, snow, fog, or ash. Blue is the color of wisdom, hardening. For example, on the flag of Great Britain, blue means the possession of the seas - this state is washed by water from all sides. England has long been considered the ruler of the seas. In Russia, blue means calmness and clear blue skies. Often used green is the color of harmony and change. Yellow is often used in conjunction with green, indicating the protection of higher powers - the sun, god. Green is commonly used on the flags of Islamic countries. Red is the color of will, strength and passion. It is the color of cutting edge technology. Often perceived as an aggressor. In Russia, it is the color of blood shed for the country.

Secondly, the attributes of the country can be small pictures depicting the location of the country on a geographic map. Each country is free to choose any thing it is famous for as a symbol. It can be the tallest tree or mountain on the planet, a crown as a symbol of monarchy, a bird as a symbol of freedom, or a bird that lives only on the territory of a given country.

Third, signs of colonization. Countries that previously owned colonies left their imprint on the flags of vassal countries. Flags of Great Britain and France can be seen on several flags with state English, French and Spanish.

Each country chooses for itself the symbolism of the flag independently, in order to show its consistency in the political arena. Countries with blue and red tones on the flag often lead, as a rule. Green is the calmest color. Often these are peaceful or previously occupied clean countries. Each country is usually proud of its flag, as are the people of that country.
