The concept of fate, destiny we find in ancient literature

Fatum in the ancient drama is a foregone conclusion of events. What can be said about the fate of Oliver Twist, a boy with an amazing fate. Was he destined to suffer such a hard fate?

Oliver's mother dies after childbirth, barely having time to throw a gentle look at her son. About his parents Oliver knows nothing, he is an orphan in a soulless world. The workhouse, where there was a little orphan according to the author's descriptions is more like a prison. The question arises. Was there a chance in those days the child to live a normal full life, if life began as described by the author. Or is it that being an orphan in a bourgeois capitalist society means not having any hope for a bright future? Oliver doesn't. He falls into the apprentice to the undertaker, where he suffers constant humiliation and ridicule, sleeping in the Studio with coffins.

Oliver Twist is a surprisingly kind, pure, sincere, decent boy. All the time the reader is haunted by the idea. What for was given to the child such a fate?

Charles Dickens is a moralist writer who shows us an idealized image of the main character. Thus the author gives us, firstly, an example to follow, and, secondly, hope. After all, knowing the happy ending of the novel, the reader is convinced that the observance of Christian, humanistic values is the key to a happy escape from all troubles. "Be naive as children," the Bible says. Maybe that's why the main character of the book in spite of everything: poverty, hunger, loneliness, enemies ' goats remains a man and finds happiness.

Thus, it can be concluded that the high moral qualities of a person, his inner core is something that decides the fate of a person.
