Civilization and Progress

Progress is a continuous process that makes living conditions better. If we compare the lives of people earlier and now, then we can trace the countless advantages. For example, medicine, before people died from simple diseases, now we just exclude the likelihood of them getting sick, but you only remember that women used to give birth in the field, but now everything happens to be civilized, in hospitals. Now we can afford to live in a house where there is electricity, sewage. Many have cars, and those who do not own them have the opportunity to travel by public transport. In the modern world, you don’t have to send letters and wait for them to respond to you in 3 months. The Internet simplifies everything, elementary instead of running around the shops looking for the right thing, you can find it in 2 clicks and order home delivery. A century without wars fell on us, and our main battle is a war with ourselves. In today's world, many value things more than people. In our world, this is a common thing, because human desires are infinite, and the more we fulfill them, the more they become. At such moments I feel embarrassed, because I like a world in which people would not depend on each other. A world without suffering, as in Aldous Huxley’s “Brave New World”. It is known that sooner or later, at the peak of its development, civilization ceases to exist. It is not known how soon this end will befall us, all that remains is to live as you want, setting goals not only personal, but also aimed at the common good. Progress, anyway, is cool.
