Can you imagine a country without a flag?

Can you imagine a country without a flag? Probably you can’t. And this is obviously, because the flag is main symbol of the country. The flag consider the history and cultural features of the state. Insulting the flag is considered an insult to the state and all the people who are citizens of this state.

Let's start with the fact that a semblance of modern flags appeared about 300 years ago. Then they were needed as identification signs of belonging to the state, since at that time the Maritime powers were fighting for supremacy on the seas. They should have been visible from afar. The first flag appeared in the Netherlands. In those days, flags were mostly one-color or two-color.

Now you can see a large number of different and colorful flags, and each has its own story. What can be used as symbol of the country? First, it's the color. Each color has its own designation. For example, white symbolizes peace, purity and integrity, blue is the color of faith and loyalty, and red symbolizes the strength of the people, their bloodshed for the Fatherland. Many European countries, including our country, use this tricolor. In addition, you can find yellow (gold), green and all the others on the flags. For each country, these colors are associated with something special. The emblems of ancient Royal families are used to display the country's symbols in addition to the colors on the flag. There can be also some symbols or animals. For example, there is the Star of David on the flag of Israel, or a dragon on the flag of Bhutan.

Stars can also be used as symbols of the country. For example, the US flag has 50 stars respective to the number of States, as well as the flag of Australia. Muslim countries often use a month with a star symbolizing Islam on their flags.

Summing up, I want to say that there are many ways to reflect the country's symbols on the flag. The main thing is that it reflects the peculiarities and sovereignty of the country. After all, the flag is the main symbol of the country's uniqueness.
