“What can you say about Hamlet, the main character of “Hamlet, Prince of Denmark”

I don't think there's anyone who hasn't heard of Hamlet, the Prince of Denmark. This is one of the most famous works of Shakespeare, one of the most quoted. And for me, the topic is very personal. The inner experiences of Hamlet, his tosses and contradictions have always been close to me, resonated in me, touched the secret strings of my soul. I read Hamlet when I was 14, and the dilemma of "to be or not to be" came to me, as it might to any teenager who is thinking for the first time about life and death, about the right to choose and what it really means to choose to be.

The tragedy of Hamlet, in my opinion, is that it is surrounded on all sides by conventions and misunderstandings. He knows the truth, but is forced to hide it and remain silent. He is torn by contradictions similar to Raskolnikov's thoughts – to act as a judge for another person himself, or to rely on the will of Fate and the judgment of God. To pass a sentence and carry it out, or to appeal, to commit an Act or not? To be or not to be? In the situation with Hamlet, this is a terrible choice, because his father is killed, and his ghost calls him to revenge. In addition, murder in this case is not only a mortal sin, but also high treason. The choice is not just difficult, it seems to be impossible. Hamlet's attempt to pretend to be mad, I believe, is connected not only with the desire to find out the truth, but also with the opportunity to hide from the terrible truth in his madness. An opportunity to get away from solving the "to be or not to be" dilemma.

I am sure there is no one who would be left indifferent by Hamlet's monologue.
