Is he living or is he dead?

«Do you like the story? Why?»

In order to become a great writer, you need to be born great writer. It is impossible, without a natural talent, to learn how to write bestsellers. Also in a simple recipe for success you need to add a little savvy. One such writer was Mark Twain. He was able to transfer the reader to the atmosphere of his works and make the reader personally feel the whole course of events. The same can be said about the heroes of the story of Mark Twain «Is he living or is he dead?».

This story cannot leave the reader indifferent. When I reading this story, I worried very much about his heroes. It seemed to me that one of the three friends really had to die. And by his death he must save the others from hunger. But the denouement of the plot was more humane.

Also interesting was the comparison of the «allegedly deceased» artist Francois Millet with an old rich man who was described by the ''Englishman'' at the beginning of the story. He was rich, but completely lonely. In this story, nobody not died. But the pay for the wealth of three friends was great. Francois Millet buried his past life in order to save himself and his friends from hunger. Moreover, they all gained wealth, but lost each other. Thus, the main price of their wealth was their friendship.

In general, the essence of man is such that he does not value what he has. No matter how hard he tries. We do not value communication with loved ones when we have the opportunity to be with them. We do not value we youth, we would rather like to grow up and become rich and independent. And when we become so, we want to return youth. But this is no longer possible. Unfortunately, the recognition of great writers, poets and comes after their death.
