Interviews are a common genre of journalism

As a rule, it takes place in the form of a conversation between a correspondent and some well-known or outstanding person. Today, we can often see such meetings on TV, hear them on the radio, or read about them in the newspapers.

Usually, even if the interview is entertaining, it requires serious preparation from the journalist. The correspondent must learn a lot about the person with whom he is going to communicate. This is simply necessary in order for the meeting to be interesting and the conversation to be meaningful.

Questions should also be not only relevant, but also correct, so as not to offend the interlocutor and not hurt his feelings. Although today many journalists, especially those who work in the field of show business, deliberately ignore this rule in the hope of getting a sensation.

I have always been interested in becoming a participant in an interview, so that I can be the center of attention for a short time. And then one day luck smiled on me. It happened last year when I took first place in city competitions on track and field athletics. Then I, as the winner, was interviewed by a correspondent of a local TV channel.

It turned out that it was very difficult to answer even the simplest questions in detail when a video camera was pointed at you. I remember that at that moment my resolve instantly disappeared, but I still tried to control myself and even tried to joke and smile.

My minute of fame was a success, and then my parents proudly showed the video of the interview to all our relatives. Of course, I was very pleased, but I also remember that such a conversation, it turns out, requires a lot of effort not only from the journalist but also from the interviewed person. And self-confidence, the ability to control emotions and choose the right words play a significant role here.
