«If I Had a Million Dollars»

This question is the topic of many school and university discussions. A lot of students and ordinary people may answer you something about a beautiful life, buying large house, expensive cars, yachts, and other things of luxury or moving to another country etc. Much fewer people will answer that they spend a lot of these money for charity, for example they will offer the money to an orphanage or a church or a clinic.

I think my answer will be just a little original.

If I had a million dollars, I will realize one of my ideas. I think one million dollars it is enough to found a nongovernmental technical laboratory, where I would like research and produce some devices for people. It will be two kinds of devices: the machines for helping people do their daily routine and the devices for people, who have limited physical capabilities.

The first type of machines will be do a lot of quotidian things: prepare meals, serve them on a table and clear the table after, move the dirty dishes from sink to the dishwasher, run clothes in the washing machine etc. In the USA there is one engineering company, named “Boston Dynamics”, which occupied by similar development and, for my opinion they are very good in these researches.

The second type of devices will be actively use in the in neurosurgery, because a lot of invalid people need of such prostheses that will not only replace various organs, but give to people abilities to sense as if they were their real organs. These types of researches also are extended in the USA and in Europe.

But in Russia, of course, we have some similar organizations, but most of them are government agencies and universities with a lot of bureaucracy and low salary of engineers.

In my lab I would try to make ideal conditions for researches and high wags. And the main source of income will be orders from the companies around the world in the areas of science and techniques of my lab and in related fields.

I hope that the results of such work will be very useful for all humanity.
