How to become a good manager

Many have heard about the profession of manager. Its representatives can be found in all sectors and spheres of human activity. Unfortunately, not everyone knows which manager can be considered truly good.

Every year, many educational institutions graduate young specialists with managerial degrees, but their small number achieve success in their profession.

In order to become a professional manager in Russia it is necessary to go a hard way, in comparison with the developed countries of the West, it is less long - not fifteen years, but less than ten.

In our country there are many top managers who were trained in state-owned companies. At the public sector enterprises, many experienced managers appeared who went from the lowest level - masters, department heads, to company directors.

Young managers often lacked knowledge of the industry-specific features of production, and experienced managers lacked the ability to see strategic prospects. Some applicants for the ranks of top managers manage to make a professional working career due to the fact that they were in a good team. The head of the team achieves dizzying success in career growth and pulls the members of the team he trusts with him. In this case, the human qualities of employees are of paramount importance.

The main skill of managers is the ability to manage people. Employers usually require that the manager is skilled in this area. The personal qualities of the manager and the style of managing subordinates used by him are important. In order to build a manager’s career correctly, it is necessary to make maximum efforts so as not to stay in one place for a long time, gain experience, offer ideas, and more. Only after this manager can be considered a true professional in his field.
