Was the major brave? Why do you think so?

Events in the story take place during the war. Ernest Miller Hemingway wrote about himself and what he saw around him. He lived in Milan at that time and watched the people around him. Every day he went to old hospital and made some procedures. A lot of different people also came every day to hospital to improve their health. One of them was major war.

Author and major sat next to each other during the procedure. They did not do anything that`s why they have a time to speak. They talked about their lives, told different interesting stories. But once something happened, Ernest Hemingway did not understand what happened. Major suddenly ran out into the corridor and started crying. In some time, he came back.

Turns out he just lost his wife. She was the meanings of his life. He loved her so much and he could not believe that she is dead.

I think the major is brave, really brave man. He was in war, he came back and continue his life. Yes, he lost wife, but he is still alive. Of course it is so difficult to survive this. I think only brave person can do it. Yes, he was overwhelmed with emotion.

He went to war for the woman he loved, defended the country for her, gave everything he could for her, but he couldn't save her. And now he doesn't understand why he did it? So he cries whenever he remembers her or the war.

The war takes a lot of lives, we don't know everyone. We remember and love only our own.

I hope that the fate of this major in the future went well. He's loyal person. He can love.
