The Creative Impulse» «Do you like the story? Why?

"The creative impulse”- is the work of one of the best known English writers of present day- William Somerset Maugham.

In composition, the writer describes the writer Mrs. Forrester, whose works have not been successful for a long time. This composition tell us how Mrs. Forrester lived, how long she wrote works that were unsuccessful, how they weren't sold in bookstores and how she achieve success at the end. But, she didn’t stop writing, didn’t give up. Though, she herself didn’t believe that, her books would be read. She continued to write, but she was already resigned to the fact that people weren’t interested in her books. Even her husband Mr. Albert Forrester didn’t like her parties. He was an ordinary businessman, who earned not so much. And all people surrounded by Mrs. Forrester didn’t like her husband. They considered him very bore and didn’t understand why Mrs. Forrester has ever married to him. But, Mrs. Forrester was kind of him, and always knew how to put to shame anyone, who tried to make fun of him, in her presence.

And, only after unhappy matter in her life, she was inspired by writing a new genre of work. After, she found out that, his husband left home with her cook Ms. Bullfinch, she was mad at this, but decided to go and convince her husband to return home. But, when talking with him and with Ms. Bullfinch, she realized that, she and her husband were so different, that she no longer wanted, to return him. And, during the conversation, they gave her a new thought, to write detective stories, to which she answered too sharply in the negative. But on way to home, thinking about this idea, she decided to do it, to write a detective story, which her husband advises.

This story brought great success, the interest of readers, glorified it throughout the country and around the world. After, that all her works was redesigned and also began to be sold.

I liked this work, because the writer didn’t give up with her large number of failures, but on the contrary began to write something new, that enhanced her.
