Is it necessary to discover space?

This is an interesting question.

Many people think that space exploration as a luxury, but this attitude is not only wrong, it’s dangerous.

The knowledge of astronomy, physics etc. has enabled man to know much about stars and planet, their behavior, their motions etc.

All questions about others planets help us understand our own planet, and allow us to see how humans are affecting it.

Certainly understanding asteroids is important: we need to learn how to move them in case one is heading our way. An asteroid impact could wipe out all humans on Earth, so our very future is tied to space travel.

Another popularly cited benefit of space exploration is “job creation”, or the fact that a space agency and its network of contractors, universities and other entities help people stay employed.

Space exploration can bring new resources and technology to our planet. People should continue to pursue this exploration, which could benefit Earth’s environment and mankind. Space exploration has already made so many contributions to the environment, the economy, and to human health.

And there is one more reason. Humans strive to learn, to explore, to push boundaries, to see what’s around the corner. This is in many ways a fundamental need, and space exploration is a fantastic manifestation of that. The Universe is huge, beautiful, mysterious, and, ultimately, knowable. Even if the other reasons were not there, this alone should be enough for us pursue our exploration.

In my opinion, space exploration is important not only to humanity’s curiosity of the great beyond, but it is also important for the future of the earth and all of us living on it. So here I will count down “Houston style,” my top 5 reasons why space exploration is important for the world.
