Hans Florian Zimmer

Florian Zimmer is a German film composer known for his film music and computer games. He is widely known for his compositions, which directors successfully use in action films and thrillers. Winner of the Academy Award, two-time winner of the Golden Globe Award, three-time winner of the Grammy Award.

Hans Zimmer was born in Frankfurt am Main to a Jewish family.

“My father died when I was still a child, and somehow I gradually ran away to music, which became my best friend”

He began his musical career with playing keyboards and synthesizers in the Helden groups (along with Warren Kann from Ultravox) and The Buggles.

In the 1980s, he worked with film composer Stanley Myers; they co-wrote music for films such as Moonlight (1982), Nothingness (1985), My Beautiful Laundry (1985). His first major achievement is considered to be 1988, when the main musical theme of the film “Rain Man” written by him was nominated for the Academy Award “Oscar”.

Hans Zimmer is also the author of the musical themes of the game Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (in collaboration with Lorne Balphy) and Crysis 2

In my childhood I watched a lot of cartoons and did not suspect that the author of these compositions was Hans Zimmer himself. I was very attracted by this music and thanks to it, I gained good taste and hearing. Then I grew up and while listening to music on the Internet, I came across him and my attitude to his music did not change at all, but on the contrary improved.
